Israeli Strikes Target Iran Railway Infrastructure Across Iran

(MENAFN) Israeli forces carried out a wave of airstrikes on Tuesday targeting railway infrastructure across Iran, striking at least 10 rail lines and bridges just hours after issuing a public threat against the country’s transport network.

According to Army Radio, the strikes focused on locations Israel claims were being used to move weapons and missile launch systems.

Reports from Iranian outlets described the operation as coordinated US-Israeli attacks hitting rail infrastructure in several regions nationwide.

There were no immediate details on casualties or the extent of the damage.

The strikes followed an earlier warning from the Israeli military urging Iranian civilians to avoid train travel and stay away from railway stations.

The latest attacks come amid intensifying regional conflict that has escalated sharply since Feb. 28, when Israel and the United States launched a large-scale offensive against Iran. The campaign has left more than 1,340 people dead, including Iran’s then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, though officials have not released updated figures in recent days.

In response, Iran has launched waves of drones and missiles targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US military bases. The retaliatory strikes have resulted in casualties, infrastructure damage, and widespread disruption to global markets and air travel.
